Bake a Pumpkin Cake for Halloween!

Halloween is about tricks and treats, costumes, parties and fun. Candy treats can get a tad boring so this Halloween, how about baking up a pumpkin-shaped cake? Here’s a great method for concocting your own sweet, edible pumpkin treat:
1. Find your favorite cake recipe and bake two bundt cakes worth. Let cool on a wire rack and remove cakes from molds after a few hours
2. Place one of the bundt cakes upside down on a serving platter or large place. Using canned frosting, ice the topside (which is actually the bottom because it’s upside down!) of the cake. Take the other cake and place it on top of the frosted cake, flat side down. Now you’ve got yourself a pumpkin shape!
3. Take another can of frosting and tint it orange. Frost the entire cake so it looks like one, solid pumpkin.
4. Using store-bought fondant, stamp out shapes with cookie cutters and embellish the cake with them. Use leaves, jack-o-lantern features or flying witches. Make sure each is appropriately colored.
5. Use extra frosting to “glue” the shapes to the cake.
Other easy Halloween treats to consider are simple cupcakes or frosted and cookie-cuttered cookies in spooky shapes.
